CRISP COUNTY ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
December 17, 2002
The Crisp County Zoning Board of Appeals met at their regular scheduled meeting on the 17th day of December, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at the Crisp County Courthouse.
The following members were present: Kirby Wood; Bob McCadams & Robert Powell; also present, Connie Sangster, Assistant Planning Director; Jimmy Mumphery, County Building Inspector. Members absent: Kenneth Carter and Jerome Outlaw.
Also present were the following visitors: Haywood Neal hearing:Haywood Neal.
Request from Haywood Neal for a variance to reduce the north side property line from the required 15' to 0' (revised reduction from 15' to 7 ½'. Property being zoned RS2 (Single Family Residential) and being located at 221 Wolf Thick Road.
Mr. Wood, Chairman, called the hearing to order. Ms. Sangster told the members that after posting the legal advertisement, Mr. Neal had obtained an additional 7 ½' of property on the north side by a quit claim deed (attached and made a permanent part of these minutes), so in effect, Mr. Neal is only asking for a 7 ½' variance reduction. Mr. Neal was present and spoke on his own behalf. Mr. Neal stated that if approved he plans to raise the roof height to square it off with the rest of the house in order to add a bedroom and bathroom and also project the open carport out toward the road. Mr. Neal stated that he would not be adding more footage to the north side property line than was already existing as an open carport. At this time, Mr. Wood asked if there were other comments or questions. Ms. Sangster stated the adjacent property owner on the north side, Mr. Roy Martin, Jr., had sent a letter (attached and made a permanent part of these minutes) with no objection to the request. At this time, Mr. Wood asked the members if they had further questions or comments. There were none. The public hearing portion of the meeting was concluded at this time.
VOTE: A motion was made by Mr. McCadams, seconded by Mr. Powell to approve the request to reduce the north side property line from the required 15' to 7 ½'. Property being zoned RS2 (Single Family Residential) and located at 221 Wolf Thick Road.
A motion was made by Robert Powell, seconded by Bob McCadams to approve the Minutes of November 19, 2002. Carried unanimously 3-0.
